All in-person gatherings at Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church are now cancelled until further notice due to the risk posed by COVID-19 coronavirus. We urge you to practice "social distancing" to the maximum extent possible in order to contain this threat.
However:
I also commend to you the pastoral letter issued this afternoon by our Bishop Brian Maas. Our current level of action is Level 1 - Watchful Preparation. The following is the latest information from Spirit of Grace as of Sunday, March 15, at 8:00am. Spirit of Grace's Leadership Team met on Friday night to formulate a three-level action plan to address the risk of coronavirus.
This is our current situation: Level 1 — Watchful Preparedness We are monitoring local, state, and national information, preparing for increased need for pastoral care and possible future restrictions on activities, and emphasizing hand washing and good hygiene practices. These are future steps we may take: Level 2 — Disease Prevention Implementing temporary changes to worship practices and encouraging other social distancing measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Level 3 — Emergency Management All worship gatherings, meetings, and small groups will be online-only until the threat has passed. Leadership Team and Pastor will conduct regular telephone check-ins with vulnerable participants. One Another Fund will be used to help participants in financial crisis. If you have any questions, please talk to Pastor Ted or any member of Leadership Team. |
